SSI/SSDI Receipients

If you or your caregiver(s) can benefit from some type of equipment, home modification, vehicle, etc. the resources of the NewWell Fund may be able to assist you and/or your family either through a grant or loan from the Consumer Services Fund or the NewWell Fund regular loan program.

Don't be afraid to apply for an NewWell Fund loan just because you or your family member receives SSI and/or SSDI government benefits.  If you are on SSI or SSDI, and are between the ages of 16 and 66, it may be possible for a PASS Plan (Plan for Achieving Self-Support) to assist you in making payments to repay the low interest loan.  The NewWell Fund has technical assistance capacity to assist you in considering this option or you make seek the advice of a Benefits Planner/Advisor (For a list of Benefits Planners available at no cost in your area go to www.vopa.state.va.us or call 1-800-552-3962).
