Who We Serve
The NewWell Fund is here to help eligible applicants in Virginia get the assistive technology they need to become more independent or more productive members of the community with an improved quality of life.
An eligible applicant is any resident of Virginia with a disability or who has a family member with a disability. An individual with a disability is a person who self identifies a limitation of a major life function such as walking, seeing, hearing and talking. A small business or non-profit organization in Virginia is also an eligible applicant if it demonstrates that the loan will be used to acquire assistive technology designed to employ or retain one or more persons with disabilities, or that the loan will be used to make structural modifications consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act to benefit people with disabilities.
While not every eligible applicant will be able to get a loan, when we review your case we will overlook credit issues that relate to your disability, something that can’t be found with most other lending institutions.
